Dear Clara,

Happy 18th birthday! What a beautiful and exciting milestone.

From the very first moment I met you, I could feel your good heart. Your empathy, your spunk, and the light you carry are so special. You are wise beyond your years, but you are also so much fun to talk to and be around. You have a way of making people feel seen and loved, and that is such a rare gift.

I love and adore your mom, and I love and adore you. I truly cannot imagine not moving here and having the blessing of getting to know you. You are a very special daughter of God, and I hope you always remember who you are and how deeply loved you are.

As you step into this next chapter, I wish you every good thing life has to offer. Chase your dreams. Hold tightly to your hopes. Love deeply. Be brave. The world is yours to take, and I cannot wait to see the beautiful life you create.

Through all of it, never forget the two greatest things: love God and love people. I can promise you that if those remain your priorities, in that order, you will have a rich, fulfilling, and truly happy life.
